IntentOS

Privacy Policy

Last updated May 12, 2026

IntentOS is a context-aware task manager for iOS, made by Nick Valcke (nickvalcke@gmail.com). This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and your choices. The short version: no account, no tracking, no ads. Read on for specifics.

What we collect

The app does not require a name, email, password, or any account to function. The only identifier we store is a random UUID generated on your device the first time you launch the app (a "device ID"). It cannot be linked back to you personally.

The content you create — your intents (tasks, reminders, events, location triggers), the raw text you type or speak, and any images you share into the app — is stored on our backend so that it survives a reinstall and so the app can show the same data when you reopen it.

We do not collect contacts, photos, browsing history, advertising identifiers, device fingerprints, or telemetry.

AI parsing (Anthropic)

When you submit a thought (typed, spoken, or as an image), the text or image is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to be parsed into a structured intent. Anthropic acts as a processor on our behalf; their handling is governed by their privacy policy.

Only the content you submit is sent — never your device ID, location, calendar, or contacts.

Storage (Supabase)

Intents are stored in a Postgres database hosted by Supabase, keyed by your anonymous device ID. Their handling is governed by Supabase's privacy policy.

Device permissions

The app asks for the following permissions only when you use the feature that needs them:

  • Calendar — to add events you confirm to your iCloud calendar.
  • Notifications — to deliver reminders you schedule.
  • Location (While in Use, then Always) — to fire location triggers when you arrive at a place. Locations are stored only as part of intents you create; we do not track or transmit your background location otherwise.
  • Microphone — to capture voice input when you tap the mic.
  • Photo library / Share extension — to read screenshots you choose to share into the app.

All of these can be revoked any time in iOS Settings → IntentOS.

Tracking, ads, sale

We do not use the App Tracking Transparency framework. We do not show ads. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes. We do not use analytics SDKs that profile individuals.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws, you have rights to access, correct, port, or delete the data we hold about you. Because we only know you by your anonymous device ID, please email nickvalcke@gmail.com from the email of your choice and include the device ID shown in Settings inside the app. We'll respond within 30 days.

You can also delete all your data instantly by deleting the IntentOS app from your device and emailing us to ask for the cloud copy to be purged.

Children

IntentOS is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the associated data.

Changes

When we update this policy we'll change the date at the top of this page. For material changes we'll surface a notice in the app.
